Air conditioning

How’s your air conditioning functioning? If it’s emitting warm air, functions intermittently or emits unpleasant smells then it’s time for a free aircon check and – if required – re-gassing.

Almost all cars use one of two main types of refrigerants, and the good news is we offer both. Manufacturers recommend your air conditioning is checked every two years in any event. As it’s not covered in an MOT test it’s important that it becomes part of your regular vehicle maintenance routine. An air conditioning recharge not only makes your vehicle more pleasant to be carried in but can also improve fuel efficiency when there is less strain on the system and engine. Don’t think of it purely in terms of summer, a well-functioning AC demists your windscreen fast in colder months too.

Ozone generator Disinfectant Service

How do you keep a vehicle safe from bacteria, viruses and unpleasant odours? Regular ozone disinfection is one way. In less than half an hour, and often while you wait, we can offer to disinfect your vehicle neutralising almost all bacteria and viruses. Although the system is known to be effective against coronaviruses, we would not claim it’s guaranteed against Covid 19, but in these post Covid days it’s even more important to disinfect your vehicle and neutralise most threats. The ozonation of your air condition is very effective. Ozone is a tri-atomic oxygen molecule which oxidises and sterilises anything it contacts. So, by ozonising your air con the vehicle interior is automatically ozonised.

The process kills all spore forms, fungi, moulds, mites and viruses as well as removing all unpleasant odours such as tobacco smoke, mustiness, and the smells associated with fire or water damage.

Air conditioning in electric vehicles

A traditional air conditioning system relies on the engine to drive the compressor, however in an electric vehicle there is no engine to drive this compressor, it is instead driven by high-voltage electricity.

The compressor controller is installed on the compressor and controlled by the vehicle control unit (VCU). When cooling is required, VCU will drive the compressor to achieve cooling.

But don't worry, we have all the latest equipment, knowledge and expertise to keep the air conditioning in your EV running smooth, keeping you cold in those hot summer months and helping to demist your windscreen in the colder ones.
